Communication vital

The Writers Editorial Services team is led by managing editor David Knight.

A former editor of the weekly Derbyshire Times, sub-editor with the Coventry Evening Telegraph and programme and press publicity officer with Central Independent Television, David launched Writers in January 1990.

Since then he has taken a 'hands on' lead in the design and publication of newspapers, annual reports, magazines, brochures and newsletters for high-profile organisations in both the public and private sectors.

He is also a part-time lecturer in journalism at the University of Lincoln.

"Communication is vital in every aspect of life but particularly in business," he says. "Good communications ensures everyone is 'on message' and comfortable about it, fosters team building and spirit and points everyone towards the same, more profitable and rewarding goals.

"Poor communication just leads to bad word of mouth, one of the surest ways to devalue your standing and impact.

David Knight

"Journalism has given me an unending desire to see that the right message gets across to the right audiences and PR has given me an extensive network of contacts.

"With my team of associates – all with responsible, practical backgrounds in newspapers and the media – I have enjoyed helping progress to be made through better communication. We are keen to share our knowledge and be of service to an ever-wider range of businesses and organisations."
